I
am under 40 (or over 60) - can I still become a member?
The committee considers every application for membership on its
individual merit, it is possible for people who are a little outside of
our stated age range to join if the committee feels that it will
benefit the club.

Will
I have to leave when I reach 60?
No. This is why you will see some members in the club who are over 60,
they may have been in the club a long time and are probably very
active members.

I have to leave if I find a partner?

How
often does the club meet?
We have a club night once a week (Wednesdays) in a local pub.
Approximately 30+ members turn up, and once a month you can also
collect your programme. We also have various other events for you to go
to on almost every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the year; the
monthly programme has full details of what is going on.

Do
I have to host an event?
Members are encouraged to put on at least two events a year, but there
is no need for new members to rush in to this. When you are
ready, speak to other members or to a
Programme Co-ordinators to get ideas
and maybe help with co-hosting an event.

How
do I go about hosting an event?
You may have your own ideas about the kind of event you want to put on
- but if you need guidance, contact a Programme Coordinator because
they will be more than happy to help with ideas and practical help and
will tell you what dates are available.

How
do I join and how much does it cost?
By coming along to a new members' evening for an informal chat about
the club and its activities. You will also have the
opportunity to meet new and existing members of the club and meet the
committee. You will be able to take temporary membership for
up to two months at a cost of £10, to see if you really like the club.
This covers the cost of two programmes and lots of other useful
information. After the two months you will have the opportunity to
complete the membership form and pay £30 for a full year's
membership. The club is a non-profit making organisation.
